Patients and Pets in Viatza
Table of Contents
In Viatza, patient profiles are the foundation of everything.
Each patient can represent a person or a pet, and every entry you create is tied to that patient. This keeps histories separated and makes long-term tracking much more reliable.
Why Patients Matter
Using separate profiles keeps records clear over time.
When you track more than one person or pet, this structure prevents mixed timelines and keeps search, medications, symptoms, files, and appointments in the right context.
Open Patient Details
To open patient details:
- Go to Home
- Tap the patient avatar in the header
Everything you edit here applies to the currently selected patient.

Edit a Patient Profile
In patient details, you can update profile information such as:
- Image
- Name
- Date of birth
- Sex
- Blood-Type
- Allergies
- Wheel-chair
- Vaccines (coming soon)
For person profiles, additional fields like blood type and wheelchair status are available.
You can also import relevant fields from Contacts and, when available, import data from Health.
Tap Save to keep changes, or tap Done to save and close.

Add Another Patient or Pet
From patient details in read mode, tap + .
Then choose whether the new profile is a person or a pet, complete the details, and save.
This is useful when you track family members or pets in separate diaries.

Patient Tabs
When more than one patient exists, each profile gets its own tab.
Switching tabs updates the full app context, including Home recommendations, search results, counts, and record lists.

Delete a Patient
You can delete non-current patient profiles from patient details.
Delete is a permanent action that removes the patient and associated records.

Next Section
