Files in Viatza

Table of Contents

The Files section is your central place for patient-related images and documents.

Use it for reports, prescriptions, scans, lab results, and any supporting attachment you want connected to patient history.

How Files Work in Viatza

Files in Viatza are not isolated. They stay connected to the medical context where you need them.

A file can be attached to:

  • Symptom records
  • Medication logs
  • Appointments

Even when a file is attached to a specific record, it is still available from the main Files section so you can find it again later.

Open the Files Screen

To get to this screen:

  • Open Home for the patient you want to work on
  • In Browse, tap Files

All files shown here belong to the currently selected patient.

Add and Import Files

Once you are in the Files screen, tap + to add a file.

You can:

  • Import images or PDFs from Files
  • Pick existing photos from Photos
  • Capture a new image with the camera

You can also attach files directly while editing symptoms, medication logs, and appointments.

This makes it easy to save supporting documents in the moment without leaving the workflow you are already using.

Search Files

You can search files from two places, depending on how you are working:

  • The Files screen, when you are already browsing attachments
  • Home search, when you want to find a file quickly without opening Files first

Search can match:

  • File names
  • Tags

This is useful when you remember only part of a document name or a context tag (for example, lab, follow-up, or prescription).

Search is always scoped to the selected patient, so results stay relevant and easier to review.

Privacy (Lock)

When a file is private:

  • Content is protected in supported views
  • The file stays linked to related records
  • Name-based discovery may still be possible in some search contexts

If you delete a file, it is removed permanently and detached from all linked records.
