The Idea Behind Timix App

The Idea Behind Timix App

In a world where distractions are abundant, time is our most valuable resource. Yet, the tools we use to manage it often feel rigid, uninspired, or overly complicated, expensive or full of ads. That’s why I created Timix – a timer app designed not just to manage time but to empower users with flexibility, simplicity, and purpose.

Why Timix?

The idea for Timix emerged from my personal journey to enhance productivity. I’ve always been intrigued by how small adjustments in organizing our time can lead to significant improvements in focus and efficiency. However, I found existing timer apps to be either too simplistic or overloaded with unnecessary features, making it challenging to tailor them to specific workflows. Many excellent apps, like MultiTimer, Timer+, or Timer Plus, often require subscriptions or display ads, which detracts from the user experience.

Timix was born to bridge this gap – to give users the ability to structure their time in a way that feels natural and effective for them.

What Makes Timix Different?

Timix isn’t just another timer app. It’s a tool for creating flow. Here’s what sets it apart:

  1. Multiple Triggers: Whether you prefer auditory cues, vibrations, or visual indicators like a flashing screen, Timix adapts to your preferences. It’s about making time management work for you, not the other way around.
  2. Timer Queues: Life doesn’t operate on a single timer, and neither does Timix. With queues, you can organize multiple timers for complex workflows, from workout routines to deep work sessions.
  3. Cross-Platform Design: Timix is designed to work seamlessly across iPhone, Watch, and Mac. Each version focuses on the user experience specific to the platform, making it as intuitive as possible.
  4. Siri and Shortcuts Integration: Timix works seamlessly with Siri and the Shortcuts app, allowing you to control timers hands-free or integrate them into your daily routines. For example, you can say, “Hey Siri, start my workout timer,” and Timix will handle the rest.
  5. Built-in Accessibility: Timix is designed to be inclusive, supporting a wide range of accessibility features. Whether you use VoiceOver, dynamic type, or other assistive technologies, Timix ensures everyone can manage their time effectively.
  6. Shareable Templates: Timix lets you create and share timer templates with others. Whether it’s a workout routine, a study session schedule, or a custom workflow, you can easily share your templates to help others be productive, too.
  7. Simplicity at Its Core: Built entirely in SwiftUI, Timix is sleek, fast, and reliable. It’s free of clutter, so you can focus on what matters – your tasks.

No Ads, No Tracking – Just Productivity

When I set out to create Timix, I had one simple goal: to make a free app that works like a hammer – a tool that does what it’s meant to do, without distractions, complications, or hidden motives. There are no ads, no tracking, and no unnecessary clutter in Timix. It’s just you and your time.

The Philosophy Behind Timix

At its core, Timix is about helping people live better lives through mindful time management. It’s not about cramming more into your day but making room for what truly matters. Whether you’re a student, a creative professional, or someone looking to reclaim control over your schedule, Timix is a companion that respects your time.

What’s Next for Timix?

The journey doesn’t stop here. I see Timix as an evolving project, shaped by feedback, ideas, and the changing needs of its users. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

  • Community-Driven Development: I want Timix to reflect what users actually need. If there’s a feature you’d love to see, reach out and let me know!
  • A Template-Sharing Space: One exciting possibility is creating a space where users can share their Timix templates. Imagine a library of pre-made routines for productivity, workouts, studying, or even relaxation, contributed by a vibrant community of users.
  • Potential Android Expansion: While Timix is currently available for Apple devices, I’d love to see it reach Android users as well. If anyone is interested in developing an Android version of Timix, I’d be more than happy to guide and support the process.

Join Me on the Journey

Timix isn’t just an app—it’s a vision for better time management and a better life. I hope it becomes a tool that empowers you to work smarter, live more mindfully, and achieve your goals with greater ease.

If you haven’t tried it yet, Timix is available for free. Download it today and start shaping your time the way you’ve always wanted.

  1. Hi Igor Bidiniuc,

I really appreciate your time and zeal in developing this app! My use case is to build a timer for talks that contain multiple parts (mini timers). I love how I can explain my needs via ChatGPT and then import the cdowntmpl file into Timix—it works very well!

I’d like to report a small issue. How can I do that? Would you prefer GitHub issues, Telegram, or another method?

    Looking forward to your guidance.

    Best regards,
