What’s New in Acolo v26.11.19

What’s New in Acolo v26.11.19 🧭

TLDR: Any date and time from 1900 to 2100, App Shortcuts through Siri and the Shortcuts app, pinned favorites on Apple Watch, and live updates for places on Earth.

✨ New

  • Choose any date and time — pick a moment from 1900 to 2100 and see where the Sun, Moon and planets were or will be, and the 4D compass post has the full tour.

  • On iPhone and Apple Watch — on iPhone, Choose Time… is in the location pill’s menu, and on Apple Watch it’s the Time row under Stand at.

  • Your chosen time syncs — with Sync with Watch on, the time you pick on one device follows you to the other.
  • App Shortcuts — ask Siri or the Shortcuts app to point Acolo at a target, even at a chosen time and place, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

  • Pin favorites on Apple Watch — swipe right on a target to keep it at the top, synced with your iPhone pins.

The same list on Apple Watch with a Pinned section holding Venus, below Search and Show, the Venus row cut off at the bottom edge.

🛠️ Changed / Improved

  • The arrow and distance for places on Earth now update live as you move.

🐛 Fixes

  • Bug fixes and various other enhancements.

🗣️ Bonus: phrases to try

Start with “Hey Siri”, then say any of these. Siri asks for whatever you left out.

  • Point at a target — “Point Acolo”, “Find a target with Acolo”
  • Point at a time — “Point Acolo at a time”, “Point Acolo on a date”
  • Point from a place — “Point Acolo from a place”

A pinned target works inside the phrase too, so pin the Moon and try “Where was the Moon in Acolo”. The phrases are English only.

What is your favourite thing in this one, and what did I miss?

Acolo is evolving thanks to your feedback — thank you for using it! ❤️
