Timix + GIF = A Timer That Tells More Than Time
Since the early days of Timix, I kept imagining that countdown circle filled with something alive — an image, maybe even a GIF. Something that turns a simple timer into a tiny moment of meaning.
After I added the ripple effect, it felt like the perfect time to bring that idea back. I reused the media picker from viatza app, dropped it into Timix, and suddenly you could import photos straight into your countdowns.
Then I realised there was an even nicer path: let people paste a URL.
No downloading, no file juggling — and templates stay lightweight and easy to share. With SDWebImageSwiftUI handling the heavy lifting, GIFs just… work.
The first time I saw an animated loop inside the countdown, it clicked how much this could unlock.
You can drop in:
- a short exercise demo you want to follow
- a calming animation to keep you grounded
- a visual cue for a habit you’re building
- a photo of someone who motivates you
- or simply something that makes you smile while the seconds pass
Here’s a small demo:

You can try all of this right now in the Timix on App Store:
