Privacy Policy for Viatza Software Application

This Privacy Policy describes how Viatza (“Viatza”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information in connection with the Viatza iOS application (the “Software”). By installing or using Viatza you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

Viatza is a local-only application. Unlike most health platforms, Viatza does not operate a cloud server for your health records and does not transmit your health data to us or to any third party. Your information stays on your device.


1. Information We Process

Because Viatza runs entirely on your device, we do not receive or store your information on our servers. The categories below describe information that is processed locally on your device when you use the Software.

1.1 Account Information

Viatza does not require you to create an account. There is no registration, no username, and no password held by us.

1.2 Feature-Specific Personal Data

The information you choose to enter into Viatza may include:

  • Patient profile details (name, date of birth, biological details)
  • Medications, intakes, dose schedules, and intake logs
  • Symptoms and symptom records, including intensity and timestamps
  • Appointments, appointment summaries, and visit notes
  • Specialists and contact details
  • Health notes, allergies, vaccines, and questions for healthcare providers
  • File attachments such as photos and PDFs of medical documents
  • Locations associated with appointments

All of this information is stored only on your device.

1.3 Apple Health (HealthKit) Data

If you choose to enable HealthKit features, Viatza may read from or write to Apple Health, but only for the data categories you authorise and only on your device. HealthKit data remains under Apple’s control. We do not receive or store HealthKit data.

1.4 Standard Information

Viatza does not collect IP addresses, device identifiers for tracking, advertising identifiers, browser information, or analytics telemetry. The Software does not contain third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

1.5 Purchase Information

When you make an in-app purchase or subscribe, the transaction is handled by Apple’s App Store. Viatza uses Apple StoreKit to check, on your device, whether a valid purchase or subscription exists so that premium features can be enabled or restored. We do not receive your payment information.

1.6 Information You Provide When Contacting Us

If you contact us by email (for example, to request support), we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to your request.


2. How Viatza Uses Information

2.1 Providing the Software

Information you enter into Viatza is used to provide the features of the Software: displaying your health records, scheduling reminders, organising appointments, generating summaries, and similar functionality — all performed on your device.

2.2 Reminders and Notifications

Reminders for medications, appointments, and follow-ups are scheduled through Apple’s local notification system on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.

2.3 No Advertising, Tracking, or Profiling

Viatza does not use your information for advertising, behavioural tracking, profiling, or marketing. Viatza does not sell your information.

2.4 Communications With You

We may use the email address you provide when contacting us solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not send marketing emails.


3. How Information Is Shared

Because we do not receive your health information, we have nothing to share with third parties about you.

Information may, however, be handled by Apple services that you choose to use:

  • Apple Health (HealthKit) — governed by Apple’s privacy practices.
  • App Store — payment and subscription processing is handled by Apple.
  • iCloud — if you have iOS system-wide iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your device backup (including Viatza’s local data) is managed by Apple under their terms.

Viatza does not currently support exporting your health data outside of the app.


4. Your Rights

Because Viatza stores your information locally and does not transmit it to us, you exercise your data rights directly on your device:

  • Access — open the app to view all information stored about you.
  • Editing — every record in Viatza can be edited in the app.
  • Deletion of specific records — delete records individually within the app.
  • Deletion of all data — delete records in the app, use the in-app erase-all-data option where available, or uninstall Viatza to remove app data from your device.
  • Portability — Viatza does not currently support exporting your health data.

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants additional rights (such as the right to object to or restrict processing), please note that we do not hold a copy of your health data on our systems, so these rights are effectively exercised through the controls on your device.


5. Data Retention

We do not retain your health data on our systems because we do not receive it. Information stored locally by Viatza is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed, or until you delete the data within the app.

If you contact us by email, we retain the contents of the correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to address your request, and then delete it.


6. Information Security

Viatza relies on the security features of iOS:

  • App sandboxing — other applications cannot access Viatza’s data.
  • Encryption at rest — data stored by Viatza is encrypted on disk by iOS using hardware-backed keys.
  • No network transmission — your health data does not leave your device through Viatza.

Like any iPhone app, Viatza’s data is accessible while your device is unlocked. We recommend that you enable Apple’s “Require Face ID” (or Touch ID / passcode) feature to lock Viatza at the iOS level. This is managed by Apple, not by Viatza. No method of storing data is completely secure. If you believe the security of information on your device has been compromised, please contact us.


7. Use by Children

Viatza does not impose an age restriction. Because Viatza stores all information locally on your device and does not transmit or collect personal data on our servers, child-data regulations that apply to online services (such as COPPA in the United States or GDPR Article 8 in the European Union) do not apply to Viatza’s operation.

Parents or guardians who choose to record a child’s health information in Viatza do so on their own device and under their own control. We recommend that an adult supervise the use of the app when it is used to record a child’s health data.


8. International Operations

Viatza does not transfer your health data internationally because Viatza does not transmit your health data at all. Your data remains on your device.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect new features (for example, encrypted backup or sync). Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through the App Store update notes where appropriate.

By continuing to use the Software after an update, you acknowledge the revised Privacy Policy.
