A compass for the sky and the Earth beneath your feet

Acolo turns your iPhone into a pointer for anything you can name. Choose the Sun, the Moon, a planet, the centre of the Earth or any place on the map, and a translucent 3D arrow shows you the true direction to it. Even when the target is below the horizon, or on the far side of the planet, the arrow keeps pointing straight at it.

Point at the Sun, the Moon and the planets

Pick a target and hold your phone up. The arrow shows where the target really is, whether it is high overhead, hidden below the horizon, or straight through the ground under your feet. A short hint such as “Turn right” tells you which way to move, and Acolo tells you how far below or above the horizon the target sits.

Choose a place on the map

The sky is only the beginning. Point toward the centre of the Earth, or choose any spot on the map: a faraway city, a friend’s front door, or a place you hope to visit one day. Acolo shows you which way to face, no matter how far away it is.

See how far away it really is

Every target comes with the numbers. Acolo shows the distance, whether the target is above or below the horizon, and how long the trip would take at different speeds. The Sun is about 150 million km away, which is roughly 19 years by plane.
